Salary Range: 125,000-150,000/Year+10% bonusSummary of Position:
Vaco Staffing is performing a search on a Project Manager for a highly reputable aircraft manufacturing organization. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of capital equipment projects aimed at manufacturing components for the aerospace industry. This includes the design, build, and installation of various manufacturing tools and assembly lines. The role demands strong coordination of performance, cost, and schedule to adhere to contractual commitments.
Essential Functions:
  • Project Coordination: Manage project aspects including timeline, budget, and scope. Maintain constant communication with teams to ensure project milestones are met and adjust plans in response to technical changes or customer requests.
  • Customer Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Manage communications effectively to ensure trust and confidence with all project participants.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and opportunities, creating strategies to mitigate or capitalize on them, respectively.
  • Change Control: Handle scope changes efficiently, ensuring all changes are documented, approved, and incorporated into the project plan without disrupting the agreed objectives.
  • Leadership: Lead project teams in a matrix organization setting. Encourage effective communication, accountability, and collaboration among team members.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or demonstrated experience in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering & Design
  • Minimum 5 years in a project management role within Engineering, Construction, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace, and/or related verticals.
  • Cost Management, Schedule Management, Scope Management, Risk Management are all must-haves.
  • Excellent communication skills, displays proactive, organized, analytical, accountability, negotiation, willingness to learn, grow and be highly adaptable.
  • The ability to obtain a security clearance is a must-have.
  • Strong skills with Excel and proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, etc. are a must-have.
  • Experience with an ERP system for the management of sales orders, purchase orders and project plans are a nice-to-have.
  • (PMP) Project Management certification is a nice-to-have.
  • Familiarity with aerospace design and production assembly is a nice-to-have.
  • Composite Molding, tooling, production, and materials experience with parts/systems is a nice-to-have.
  • AS9100 familiarity when it comes to standards for quality management is a nice-to-have.
  • Experience managing contracts, PO, shipping, payment terms, etc. is a nice-to-have.
