- Work on projects assigned by Engineering Supervisor and according to NOV Design and Development Guidelines.
- Directly interfaces with customers, end users and other affected clients on new designs.
- Follow ISO 9000 requirements during planning, design and implementation of a product line.
- Create parts, assemblies and drawings using Solidworks.
- Perform FEA on parts and assemblies using Solidworks Simulation
- Perform code/specification specific calculations, as required.
- Perform verifying load and stress calculations.
- Create schematics using AutoCAD.
- Write reports for engineering analysis performed.
- Write technical specifications and manuals for products and equipment.
- Create, check, and approve production drawings.
- Design, develop, and support energy industry equipment, including:
o Gas storage and transport systems
o Batch and continuous mixing equipment
o Pumping equipment
o Air compressor units
o Pneumatic conveyance systems
o Hydraulic systems
o Trailer, skid, and container-based equipment.
o ASME BPVC Section VIII, Div. 1 and 2 pressure vessels
- Interface with production department during equipment builds.
- Interface with outside experts during prototype builds.
- Familiarity with the basics of manufacturing processes and technology applicable to NOV Wilco facility, including:
o Sheet metal forming
o Machining
o Painting
o Assembly
- Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, procedures and programs, including but not limited to safety and environmental requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Protect NOV's intellectual property.
- Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering. May consider other degrees with qualifying work experience.
- Knowledge and experience with SolidWorks CAD software.
- Typically has a four-year degree or equivalent and 0-2 years of experience
- Ability to work under general supervision. Work routine and instructions detailed, exercises independent judgment within defined parameters.
- Ability to understand and apply fundamental technical concepts, practices, and procedures.
