Dream Machine Asset Management is looking for a Finance Manager, which may also be called a Staff Accountant. Dream Machine is an asset management company, which means that it performs administrative duties on behalf of other companies. Those other companies are wholly owned assets, third party managed assets, real estate holdings, and some healthcare related portfolio companies. Assets move in and out of administrative services, because they are bought, sold, or third party management clients are taken on.The Finance Manager handles operational accounting for the business(es), to exclude financial statements - like PnLs, Balance Sheets, and more - and tax preparation and strategy. You are not a bookkeeper, and you are not a tax preparer. You are a tactical and operational business Finance Manager.The Finance Manager abides by and regulates the financial policies of the company, ensures that those policies are inline with board of directors, the state Board’s, and civil and governmental regulations.Activities that the Finance Manager will/may perform are:
  • Cost of Goods Sold audits and reconciliations - making sure vendors are charging us what they are supposed to charge us
  • Credit Card reconciliations - reviewing them to ensure nothing funny is being charged, that expenses are trim, and that appropriate expenses are on appropriate credit cards
  • Wire Transfers for approval
  • Operational Cash Management
  • Bank account set ups, movements, administration
  • Merchant Account set up and maintenance
  • ERA (insurance deposits into bank accountants) set up and maintenance
  • LLC maintenance with the Secretary of State(s)
  • Deposits and money movement, along with communication to bookkeepers
  • Accounts Receivable up to date
  • Expenses classifications in QBO
  • Finance special projects - internal audits, improvements, etc.
There are many hands that support financial processes in the business(es), to include property managers who pay 99% of real estate vendors, maintenance techs who manage credit card expenses that they make and divide them among companies, payroll specialists, A/P specialists paying vendors, bookkeepers, bankers and more. So, for many finance duties, you oversee their completion and integrate various parties.Activities that the Finance Manager will oversee are:
  • Insurance billing, to include major medical and personal injury (PI)
  • Financial Statements - to include PnLs and Balance Sheets created by the 10th of the month
  • Payroll Administration on the 15th and 31st of the month
  • Uncollected money, collected daily
  • Accounts Payable
Skills Necessary
  • Complete confidentiality and integrity
  • 3-5 years performing similar work - similar work could be in accounting, bookkeeping or operational finance within businesses and investment firms.
  • Quickbooks Online proficiency
  • Bookkeeping proficiency and understanding though this is not a straight bookkeeping role
  • Management skills
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Google Suites skills
  • Spreadsheeting skills
CompensationCompensation for this role is $55,000 - 70,000 salaried
