Senior EstimatorOur client is looking to add a Senior Estimator to their team.The Senior Estimator leads the estimating team and works with operations superintendent/ foremen to provide technical expertise in all scopes of work needed to ensure jobs are measured, priced, and executed according to customer specs and within budget.Responsibilities:· Monitors portals, publications, databases, and/or groups to select potential jobs for bidding.· Prepares and reviews prepared cost estimates and proposals.· Prepares and reviews take-offs, organizes bonds and permits, and communicates with sub-contractors to determine the financial needs of completing a project.· Identifies, measures, and tracks labor, material, and time for job costing and actual vs estimate analysis.· Develops, maintains, and improves estimating process and AMI work methods.· Coordinates departmental efforts with other departments for continuous flow.· Establishes departmental goals and leads team in meeting or exceeding.· Recruits, trains, retains, and manages estimating department, including conducting bi-weekly direct support meetings to ensure team is focused on safety, quality, and productivity.· Coordinates with the client on all changes in scope, questions, addendums, or clarifications regarding the work during the bidding process.· Develops and maintains relationships with customers to stimulate repeat and/or referral business.· Acts as a resource to operations during the award/start-up phase to clarify any issues regarding what was considered in the estimate, such as materials and methods of construction.· Serves on management team and communicates concerns/issues/suggestions related to safety, personnel, culture, behavior, etc. that have been observed, presumed, or overheard.· Creates and monitors progress of job measurements, takeoffs, customer proposals, submittals, change orders, and work orders.· Strives for continuous improvement by participating in training and educational events or courses relevant to the position, career path, or industry.Skills:· Three (3) years proven construction estimating experience; Civil Engineering or Construction Management a plus. Experience in asphalt, concrete, or related trades highly desired.· Comfortability leading a diverse team toward a common goal including supporting, motivating, and disciplining subordinates.· Experience with Bluebeam, Agtek, Building Connected, Construct Connect, Procorestrongly desired.· Ability to read, understand, and communicate civil plans and develop cost estimates.· Detail orientated with ability to pick out details within huge plans.· Process driven with ability to pivot and adapt to each project/issue/challenge.· Concrete, asphalt, base stone, and excavation experience a huge plus.· Independent and innovative decision maker.· Strong analytical ability, quantitative and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication/interpersonal skills.· High energy, results oriented, team mentality with a strong desire to win.· Ability to independently manage own work and ask questions until resolution is achieved.· Confidentiality and trustworthiness.Benefits: 100% Employee Paid Health Aflac - for dental and eye and other 401K 3% to 6% MatchBottom of Form
