This position is located in Tacoma, Washington, and is represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE).Paralegal 2 Salary Range 55: $58,104 - $78,120
The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.The following stipends may apply based on position requirements:
  • Incumbents assigned to our Seattle office location receive an additional 5% King County Location Pay stipend.
  • Incumbents assigned to a position designated as requiring dual language skills will receive a 5% Dual Language Requirement Pay stipend.

We are looking for an individual that is team focused, collaborative, instills trust, and is able to balance the needs of a variety of diverse colleagues. The Social & Health Services Section is responsible for representing the Division of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).In this role you will be responsible for the successful development and leadership of a team of Paralegals. This position requires strong interpersonal and customer service skills, experience leading a high performing team, and leadership skills to ensure that the team achieves its goals.The Attorney General's Office is committed to fostering a workplace that is inclusive and flexible, and which attracts, supports, and retains a diverse and talented workforce.   • Supervision:
  • Supervise, train, motivate, and coach Paralegals
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead by example
  • Apply independent judgment in completing complex tasks and projects
  • Resolve workload conflicts using expert knowledge of legal support assignments
  • Coordinate with the Administrative Operations Manager:
  • Plan, lead, and organize the work performed by Paralegal support staff
  • Have a firm understanding of agency policies and procedures
  • Ensure appropriate use of the organization's resources

  • Paralegal Workload:
  • Schedule and coordinate activities for assigned AAG(s)
  • Review legal documents for proper formatting and court rules adherence
  • Draft and prepare pleadings
  • Maintain a working knowledge of complex rules, policies, and operating procedures for all courts the Tacoma Office is involved with
  • Keep attorneys informed of upcoming deadlines
  • Serve as a member of the Division's management team
  • Model and provides leadership to promote teamwork
  • Motivate and coaches staff
