- Think Law Curriculum: Implement the Think Law curriculum to teach middle school students about legal principles, fostering critical thinking skills and an understanding of their role as advocates.
- Teaching Excellence: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that students grasp legal concepts effectively and develop into critical thinkers.
- Event Planning: Organize and coordinate events related to legal education, such as seminars, workshops, and mock trials, with a focus on developing students as advocates for their community and self.
- Guest Speakers: Secure professionals from the legal field as guest speakers to provide real-world insights and experiences, inspiring students to become advocates for positive change.
- Field Trips: Plan and execute field trips to legal institutions, courtrooms, and other relevant locations, providing hands-on learning experiences and encouraging students to connect legal concepts to real-world issues.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administrators to integrate legal education seamlessly into the overall middle school curriculum, emphasizing the development of critical thinking skills.
- Advocacy Development: Implement strategies to develop students into critical thinkers and advocates for their community and personal growth.
- Assessment: Evaluate student progress through assessments, projects, and other means, providing constructive feedback to support their development as critical thinkers and advocates.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Education, Law, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Legal Experience: Substantial legal background and/or experience, with a deep understanding of legal principles.
- Teaching Experience: Proven experience in middle school education with a focus on interactive and engaging teaching methods.
- Event Planning Skills: Ability to plan and execute various events, from small classroom activities to large-scale programs.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and professionals in the legal field.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities effectively.
- Innovative Thinking: Creative and innovative mindset to develop unique and compelling ways to teach legal concepts and promote critical thinking.
