- High school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license.
- Class B Commercial Driver's license or the ability to obtain within (6) months.
- Flaggers Certification or the ability to obtain within six (6) months.
- Availability to work various weekends and holidays is required.
- One (1) to two (2) years of irrigation experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of irrigation experience.
- English/Spanish bilingual skills preferred.
- Specialized training beyond high school or related experience in equipment maintenance, basic mechanics preferred.
- Previous team leader or supervisory experience a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of operating hand and power tools, light trucks, tractors used in public space maintenance.
- Knowledge and experience in the upkeep of public spaces including landscaping knowledge and sprinkler systems.
- Basic math skills to install and maintain irrigation systems.
- Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), Baseline, Cityworks, and the ability to learn and experiment with new software and systems.
- Ability to solve a variety of problems in situations where there are substantially diversified procedures, specialized standards, and only limited standardization, and have the decision-making ability to achieve the required job results while adhering to specified, acceptable standards, alternatives, and technical practices.

- Performs general upkeep and cleaning of public spaces in Downtown Greeley.
- Performs landscape maintenance including planting, installing pavers, installing trash receptacles and benches, mowing, watering, pruning, weed control and facility/equipment repairs.
- Operates a variety of motorized equipment, hand, and power tools.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time with frequent interruptions.
- Performs o snow removal/snow and ice mitigation/removal using small equipment and hand tools participating in an on-call schedule.
- Operates light and heavy equipment.
- Performs maintenance and safety inspections of public space infrastructure.
- Operates and performs minor maintenance on power equipment used in Infrastructure Services.
- Directs Supervise hourly employees.
- Safely applies and tracks pesticides, weed killer, and other chemical agents; uses PPE and follows Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Maintains supplies and equipment for public space maintenance.
- Follows established safety policies and practices.
- Exposure to various types of machinery noise - some levels are excessive.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- May have frequent contact with the public--in person, via email/telephone; and may experience adverse or confrontational situations with internal/external customers.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in any weather condition.

- Environment is dangerous to having considerable hazards reflects a frequent exposure to conditions that are unpredictable and may lead to injury; constant exposure to blood borne and air borne pathogens and human feces; exposure to cleaning chemicals, ice melt, paint fumes, fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides; exposure to extreme temperature conditions ranging from below zero to above 100 degrees; working with power equipment, heavy equipment, sharp objects, and mowers; exposure to illegal, and criminal activity in public spaces, (e.g., Vagrancy, drugs, graffiti, vandalism, and contaminated furniture).
- Vision enough to perform functions such as identifying materials necessary to complete maintenance on equipment, grounds, and to operate vehicles and equipment.
- Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, mowers, edgers, blowers, tractors, trenchers, front-end loaders, skid steers and other related equipment and vehicles.
- Flexibility enough to bend, twist and reach as to load and unload equipment, supplies or tools.
- Ability to move over rough, uneven, and rocky surfaces in performance of grounds maintenance.
- Stamina and strength enough to lift and or move up to 60 lbs. for long distances over a variety of surfaces.
- Ability to climb steps and ladders and work at various heights and in confined spaces.
- Perform strenuous labor in all types of weather.
- Lay sod (50+ lbs.); repairing / installing irrigation lines requires applying strength in awkward situations (e.g., 5ft deep x 3 ft wide hole, or laying in on stomach and reaching into hole).
