- Provides excellent customer service for all
- Develop, promote, and implement engaging programs and services for adults that meet library goals and interests of the local community
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders, through outreach, to promote library services, activities, and goals of the Library
- Coordinate promotion through various print and digital formats, including social media, of library programs and services in collaboration with all Library Departments
- Coordinate and oversee adult volunteers
- Reference and readers' advisory
- Participates in the training of the public and staff in the effective use of library resources and emerging technologies in a variety settings, including one-on-one, small groups, and via print
- Oversees specific library collections and updates holdings by removing obsolete materials and recommending new titles and equipment
- Keeps informed of current trends, technology, and developments affecting library services through professional reading, continuing education opportunities, and participation in professional organizations. Attends workshops, conferences, and training as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- This position is ranked at the position of Library Associate by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission.
- $43,685; generous benefits package includes Health/Dental benefits, enrollment in State Pension, paid holidays, vacation, personal days, and sick leave.
- The schedule for this position is 35 hours per week, including days, evenings and weekends.
