- Support engineers to lead meetings to develop project strategy and priorities and to communicate progress.
- Ensure the Engineering team is adding value to the YouVersion product and end-user experience through each sprint.
- Understand the Engineering team's key performance indicators (KPIs) and seek to improve them.
- Ensure the team is performing proper technical solution shaping and estimates for desired product solutions.
- Deliver solutions on agreed go-live dates.
- Manage Engineers and/or Directors of Engineering.
- Give regular and clear feedback on individual performance.
- Create development plans for the team and assist them in achieving desired goals.
- Collaborate with the Head of Engineering to develop and cast vision for the team.
- Hire and build a healthy and high-performing team.
- Hold regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports and skip-level 1:1 meetings with indirect reports.
- Provide management mentorship to Engineering Managers and other technical leaders.
- Monitor sprints to ensure defined goals and objectives are being set and achieved timely.
- Provide technical foresight for the team, identifying areas of improvement for the team.
- Maintain the technical roadmap for the team to ensure efforts align with the overall YouVersion strategy.
- Responsibly manage technical debt among various teams and platforms.
- Manage costs in connection to performance gains to ensure stewardship.
- Provide technical support on higher-level projects.
- Take vision and turn it into a reality through strategic execution.
- Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems with innovation.
- Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships.
- Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects.
- Strong leadership skills and understanding of developing and guiding others.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 6+ years of related work experience.
