- Accurately assembles meal trays/meals, snacks, and nourishments per specified meal order or diet guidelines, adhering to portion control and quality food presentation standards.
- Loads and transports food carts, and delivers food to patient/resident room or designated area following established procedures.
- Cleans dishes, utensils, equipment, and work area following established sanitation procedures.
- Performs prep work such as washing and peeling of fruits and vegetables. Cuts and portions desserts.
- Delivers and stocks food supplies in designated areas according to established par levels, ensuring proper rotation of items and monitoring expiration dates.
- Uses necessary equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Serves our cafeteria customers in a friendly, efficient manner by performing cashier duties, restocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Restocks and maintains food and other supplies in an orderly manner, observing all food storage standards.
- Follows established food handling procedures and monitors temperature of food and equipment to ensure food safety and infection control practices are met.
- Maintains friendly customer interaction with patients and families.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must be able to read/write/understand English.
- Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance
- Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing normal job duties.
- Normally works in climate controlled environment, although may be exposed to heat and humidity from cooking equipment and refrigeration temperatures while in coolers and freezer
- Frequent standing with movement throughout work area
- Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock
- Occasional high noise level in work environment
- Possible exposure to hazardous materials
- Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers.
