We need smart people like you to join us in solving hard problems that matter.Position Description.A Verification Engineer is a subject matter expert on embedded firmware and software testing and validation. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of creating and maximizing the efficiency of company-wide verification processes, the ability to individually contributed by building specific project test plans and environments and the initiative to drive the verification process to completion for multiple projects. Applicants must possess implementation-level details of a wide range of system types including microcontrollers, FPGA based system-on-chip (SoC) system, and workstation grade single board computers.What You’ll Get to Do:Develop a clean and robust general verification process for Idaho Scientific products and research projectsTranslate complex project requirements into a specific verification planImplement the verification plan to project completionParticipate in all aspects of the product design life cycle including system architecture, design, development, and verificationDistill complex technical concepts into clear and concise writing to support product documentation and proposals for new opportunitiesContribute to new product ideas and proposalsRequired Qualifications & ExperienceUS CitizenshipAbility to get a security clearanceMore than five (5) years of proven past performance in embedded systems design and verification; preference given to candidates who have experience with embedded systems securityDegree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related fieldStrong understanding of verification methods including constrained-random, directed, and formal verificationDemonstrated experience in reviewing and refining project requirements for testabilityExpertise with SystemVerilog and UVM verification languagesExperience in building verification environments from the ground up and in measuring test coverageExpert knowledge and hands-on experience with verification tools including VCS, Modelsim/QuestaSim, and Vivado.Working knowledge of scripting, specifically ‘make’ and POSIX, and software modelingAdvanced understanding of computer hardware and software architectures, including being able to clearly articulate how a CPU works, how a FPGA and an ASIC work, how Operating Systems work and how user space application runtime environments workAbility to clearly capture complex technical concepts in writing for both technical and general audiencesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsPreferred Qualifications & ExperienceActive US Security ClearanceExperience applying principles of cyber security to operational technology and embedded systemsExperience reverse engineering hardware and softwareExperience with CPU design, preferably Intel x86Knowledge of Operating System architecture and design, Linux preferredLocationThe preferred work location is at Idaho Scientific headquarters in Boise, Idaho.Commitment to Diversity.Idaho Scientific is an equal employment opportunity employer.
