Truck Shop Mechanic - First Shift

- Do internal investigations of trucks and equipment to make corrections and repairs based on reports from drivers and computer findings.
- Adhere to Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program. ex. – routinely check tractors with a safety inspection at 10,000 miles and a complete PM program at 30,000 miles. Tankers and trailers are on a PM inspection program every 90 days.
- Complete PA state inspection of vehicles – with proper certification
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Report unsafe conditions to Supervisor.
- Adhere to company safety and environmental policies.
- Follow Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures according to OSHA requirements.
- Snow removal around truck shop
- Complete paperwork required of the position.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
- Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Road calls – as needed (On call for one week per month)
- Fuel reefer trailers at the Klingerstown drop lot and document temperatures (as needed)
- Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification (or ability to obtain)
- CDL Class A Driver’s license (or ability to obtain)
- State Inspection License (or ability to obtain)
- Refrigeration training/recover for working on reefer units (or ability to obtain)
- Math skills
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and procedures
- Auto mechanical skills
- Ability to troubleshoot automotive equipment
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education to perform the essential duties of the position
- Basic computer
- Ability to read schematics
- Self-ownership of basic operational tools
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
