(Contingent upon available funding):14.60 - 19.80, HourlyWork Schedule:M-F, 8a-5p with overtime as necessaryFaculty Appt Period:Job Summary:General building maintenance, maintaining heating/air conditioning and refrigeration systems, electrical systems, general plumbing and other duties as required or necessary.Required to work overtime when necessary. Required to participate in rotating on-call schedule. Overtime and on-call hours include non-business hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays.Must work safely and promote a safe environment.Exposure to animal diseases that may be transmitted to humans. Exposure to chemicals and pharmaceuticals used in treatment of animals, medical waste, animal feces, urine, blood, and vomitus. Loud noises related to small and large animals are routine.Must be able to work in cramped spaces, on ladders, and around animals. Must be able to lift and manipulate loads in excess of 75 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crawl, stoop, work overhead and below waist level for long periods of time.Special Instructions to ApplicantsFor full consideration, please submit resume and contact information for three references.Education & ExperiencePosition Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:High School/GEDFour years of prior successful work experience with mechanical, HVAC and/or electrical experience in the building trades or technical field; or two years post-secondary education in the building trades or technical field with two years of prior successful maintenance experience in a university, commercial or industrial building maintenance organization.Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.Forklift/Lift Truck Operator Safety Certificate must be acquired after employment begins.Must be eligible for employment in areas governed by the U.S. Patriot Act and the Public Health and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002, 42 CFR 73, 7 CFR 331, and 9 CFR 121. Consequently, the individual hired for this position must successfully complete a Department of Justice/Federal Bureau of Investigation (DOJ/FBI) security risk assessment as well as the background check.Knowledge of State and Federal Mechanical and Electrical Codes, knowledge of safety regulations, broad knowledge of construction and maintenance.Preferred Qualifications:Vocational/TechnicalPrefer journeyman level HVAC, plumbing and electrical experience.Oklahoma State University (OSU) strives to provide a safe study, work, and living environment for its faculty, staff, volunteers and students.
