Senior NEPA Project Manager (Water)

- Manages and trains other environmental professionals on NEPA and other planning/environmental requirements.
- Leads business development efforts for environmental planning work, including proposal preparation and active involvement in industry and agency marketing outreach
- Manages complex NEPA and permitting efforts.
- Assesses the need for or the data adequacy of technical studies and management plans
- Uses knowledge of planning and NEPA regulations for Department of the Interior and other federal agencies to advise clients
- Conducts research and prepares technical reports on water, land use, or other physical, biological, or social resource discipline.
- Reviews environmental reports prepared by interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality and legal adequacy
- Must be able to work collaboratively to implement multiple ongoing projects to successful completion
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental policy, planning, economics, or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- 12+ years of relevant experience with leading NEPA compliance projects, especially with water resources planning work; or environmental permitting and technical report writing. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Project experience with water resources infrastructure, planning, and operations projects on federal lands
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of federal environmental laws and their implementing regulations, including, but not limited to: NEPA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, and the National Historic Preservation Act
- Experience working with the Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, or other federal agencies
- Excellent organization and time-management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a large, multi-disciplinary team; and organization, schedule, and budget management skills
