- Researches and selects hotel and venue to find an appropriate location within budget.
- Negotiates contract to ensure budgets and convention requirements are met.
- Manages budget to ensure profitability and remain within costs designated.
- Selects food and beverage at events where necessary.
- Manages on-site event from set-up to tear-down.
- Participates in planning and coordinating annual large-scale events as well as other events.
- Collaborates with the department on special projects to meet department objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or Event Management preferred.
- Three-Five years of experience managing large and small-scale Tradeshows and corporate events.
- Or combination of education, skill, and experience.
- Proficient use of MS Office Products.
- High levels organization and coordination.
- Above moderate levels of English speaking, reading, and writing; active listening; critical thinking; monitoring; negotiations, service orientation, problem solving; troubleshooting; attention to detail; and time management.
- Moderate use of mathematics, judgment, evaluations, and originality.
