This position requires deployment to Sub-Saharan Africa.**This position is subject to contract award**Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise to either the Host Nation, Regional Organization, or International Organization personnel, working in one or more specialized disciplines.
  • Lead and/or be an active participant of a workgroup that requires the specialized knowledge of the Technical Advisor.
  • Provide guidance in their area of capability and provide expert technical support for a particular project/program.
  • Coordinate with members of the U.S. interagency present at Post to ensure that all U.S. Government program activities related to the specialized discipline(s) are coordinated and support overall U.S. objectives.
  • Make recommendations for sustainable improvement to the country team and Program Office.
  • Submit monthly progress reports, which will include a Performance Monitoring Framework and Work Plan.

QualificationsMinimum Required QualificationsTechnical Advisor Level 1Bachelor’s degree and at least ten (10) years of prior professional experience working in the relevant specialized discipline(s).Technical Advisor Level 2Master’s degree and at least six (6) years prior professional experience working in the relevant specialized discipline(s)Advisory services may include the following areas of expertise: peacekeeping and humanitarian affairs, human rights/protection of civilians, women rights, law enforcement, national security, cybersecurity, counterterrorism, security reform, maritime security, border security, intelligence analysis.Overall Minimum Requirements
  • Technical certifications will be required once contract is awarded.
  • Fluent English language speaking and writing ability.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant DOS and interagency guidance regarding U.S. objectives. At a minimum:
  • National Security Strategy (NSS).
  • Integrated Country Strategy (ICS).
  • DoD’s Regional Combatant Command Theater Campaign Plan and Contingency Plans.
  • DoD Country-level Plans.
  • Foreign language requirements may apply once contract is awarded.
  • Medical requirements may apply once contract is awarded.
  • Citizenship requirements may apply once contract is awarded.
  • Security clearance requirements may apply once contract is awarded.
