MISSION COMMUNITY HOSPITAL JOB DESCRIPTIONIMAGINGTECHNOLOGIST LEVEL IIPosition SummaryThe Level II Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing all diagnostic radiologyprocedures including fluoroscopic, portables, C-arm and limited special procedure examinations,consistent with ALARA and Title 17 recommendations.In addition, performs at least one of the following modalities: Mammography, Ultrasound, CATScan or Nuclear Medicine. This position will be primarily working with pediatric, adolescent,adult and geriatric.Major ResponsibilityTechnical SkillsThe level II Technologist must have current knowledge of equipment, techniques,positioning and film processing to perform safe and diagnostic radiographs forinterpretation. This position is also responsible for the timely completion of radiologyexaminations to comply with department and hospital standards specific to patient care,this includes interacting with patients, physicians, staff and visitors while providingpatient care obligations.Radiation SafetyThe Level II Technologist is responsible to provide patients and staff, protectionin accordance with hospital and state radiation standards and must provide promptand accurate notification of equipment failure and/or related problems regardingthe efficient operation of the department.Non-Technical SkillsThe Level II Technologist must be proficient in maintaining a smooth patient flowregarding patient transportation, processing, scheduling and appointment changes,x-ray master jacket preparation and terminal digit filing.LEADERSHIP ROLECommunicationIt is the primary responsibility of the technologist to communicatewith staff all patient related issues during shift changes.The technologist is responsible for notifying the supervisor when supplylevels are low and need to be re-ordered to insure that adequate levels aremaintained.Imaging Technologist Level II2Professional Behavior1. The Level II Technologist must maintain professional behavior with patients and staffat all times and is required to comply with JCAHO standards as determined by MCHAdministration.The above statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe theprincipal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as detaileddescription of all the work required that may be inherent in the position.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS LEVEL IIThe Level II position must have the mandatory technical skills or licensure to perform one ormore of the following modalities.MammographyCurrent CRT and/or ARRT-M.UltrasoundCurrent CRT and/or ARDMS Eligible.CAT ScanCurrent CRT and necessary CAT Scan experience with proven technical skills &knowledge.Nuclear MedicineCurrent CRT and/or CNM Nuclear Medicine License.QUALIFICATIONSGENERAL REQUIREMENTS:High School Graduate or equivalent.Graduate of an accredited school of radiology.ARRT PreferredCurrent CRT and Fluoroscopy license state of California.Current license for Ultrasound, Mammography and Nuclear Medicine, experience andtechnical skill knowledge is necessary to qualify for the CAT Scan modality.Current CPRImaging Technologist Level II3PHYSICAL DEMAND ANALYSIS1.
