MISSION COMMUNITY HOSPITAL JOB DESCRIPTIONIMAGINGTECHNOLOGIST LEVEL IIPosition SummaryThe Level II Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing all diagnostic radiologyprocedures including fluoroscopic, portables, C-arm and limited special procedure examinations,consistent with ALARA and Title 17 recommendations.In addition, performs at least one of the following modalities: Mammography, Ultrasound, CATScan or Nuclear Medicine. This position will be primarily working with pediatric, adolescent,adult and geriatric.Major ResponsibilityTechnical SkillsThe level II Technologist must have current knowledge of equipment, techniques,positioning and film processing to perform safe and diagnostic radiographs forinterpretation. This position is also responsible for the timely completion of radiologyexaminations to comply with department and hospital standards specific to patient care,this includes interacting with patients, physicians, staff and visitors while providingpatient care obligations.Radiation SafetyThe Level II Technologist is responsible to provide patients and staff, protectionin accordance with hospital and state radiation standards and must provide promptand accurate notification of equipment failure and/or related problems regardingthe efficient operation of the department.Non-Technical SkillsThe Level II Technologist must be proficient in maintaining a smooth patient flowregarding patient transportation, processing, scheduling and appointment changes,x-ray master jacket preparation and terminal digit filing.LEADERSHIP ROLECommunicationIt is the primary responsibility of the technologist to communicatewith staff all patient related issues during shift changes.The technologist is responsible for notifying the supervisor when supplylevels are low and need to be re-ordered to insure that adequate levels aremaintained.Imaging Technologist Level II2Professional Behavior1.
