- Assist in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
- Involved in all front desk related activities including:
- Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
- Check members into the system.
- New member sign-up.
- Take prospective members on tours.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and developing a high performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Trainers and Custodians.
- Communicate member and staff issues with the Club Manager.
- Assist in maintaining Brand Standards such as club cleanliness, organization, and member policies
- Assist with Staff Management and provide backup support to Club Manager and Assistant Manager as needed:
- Assist in scheduling and supervising staff.
- Member service oversight - Ensuring staff is providing a superior customer experience at all times.
- Assist in resolving or escalating employee issues or concerns.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a positive atmosphere within the staff.
- Assist in overseeing cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
- Assist in ordering supplies using a specific budget based on club requirements.
- Assist in tracking statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, and annually).
- Backup support for any employee who is absent, including but not limited to the club manager, assistant manager, front desk staff, and third shift.
- Ensuring proper close down from the daily activities is completed on a nightly basis.
- Protects member confidentiality according to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and related state and federal laws.
- Perform basic maintenance of club equipment, which includes but is not limited to: replacing *overhead light and tanning bulbs, signage, *ceiling tiles, upholstery, batteries, dispensers; troubleshooting TVs/cable/internet; lubricating exercise equipment; completing simple vacuum repairs; *may require the use of a ladder.
- Continual moving, standing and walking during shift.
- Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
- Ability to work weekends, overnights and evenings as needed.
- Must be able to regularly lift or move at least 25 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 75 pounds.
- On a daily basis, must be able to utilize various cleaning implements involved in vacuuming, mopping, picking up large items, and similar projects, which includes handling toxic cleaning chemicals using acceptable safe practices.
- High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must work an average of 20-40 hours per week including at least one weekend shift (6 hours minimum) per week.
- Successful completion of Monterosso PFU Learning Pathway
- Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
- Experience working as a Member Service Representative at a Planet Fitness®, at least three months experience preferred.
- Solid supervisory, diplomacy and listening skills.
- Basic computer software proficiency, including familiarity with Google Suite and DataTrak or similar software.
- Hard working, enthusiastic and energetic!
- Strong problem resolution skills.
- Current CPR Certification preferred.
- Competitive starting wage of $14/hour with potential advancement after three to six months; plus $2 shift premium between the hours of 10pm-7am
