Seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for a well-respected, multi-location Transportation Equipment Sales and Service company. Qualified applicants understand the importance of doing a job correctly and the value of satisfied customers. Regular duties include basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned transportation equipment in the shop and service locations.About the Company:

Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:
  • Performs basic diagnostics and both major and minor repairs
  • Preforms electrical system repairs
  • Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Efficient worker able to deliver quality repairs in a timely fashion.
  • Team player and people person who can communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
  • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
  • Accounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties.
Diesel Mechanic Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of Diesel Mechanic experience with all makes: International, Volvo, Mack, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Cummins Engines, Detroit Diesel Motors
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, with the ability to learn multiple engines.
  • Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift at least 100 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Basic Service Technician certification preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
  • A forklift license is preferred.
