On call required.Maintenance Mechanic FT Evenings Position SummaryPerforms a variety of general, mechanical, and preventive maintenance as well as inspections, servicing and overhaul of equipment and facilities. Responsible for assisting in the departmental plan for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all the facility's mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Assists in the maintenance and report of the facility's buildings and grounds.SPECIAL SKILLS: Ability to read in English to follow oral and/or written instructions. Ability to obtain knowledge of boiler systems, water treatment, code restrictions, HVAC equipment and auxiliaries, i.e., pumps, valves, controls, and computer systems. Ability to learn plumbing, painting, carpentry, maintenance and the tools and materials used in the preventive maintenance of the facility. Knowledge of building controlsTHE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC FT EVENINGS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCEMINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: Boiler Operator Training required or must obtain within 90 days.#LI-AL2Responsibilities:Performs routine maintenance tasks. Responds to hot/cold calls, changing out lighting, minor repairs to equipment, routine plumbing calls, replacing ceiling tiles, minor window, and roof repairs, and conducts daily rounds of the facility to maintain a safe environment. Assists other trades when additional help is required.Qualifications: Education:Required: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred: Graduate of trade or vocational school in related field Experience:Required: 2 years experience with a contractor or work in another type of trade.
