  • Performs a variety of manual labor tasks incidental to trade or craftwork requiring application of knowledge and experience gained on previous similar assignments.
  • Assists skilled trades or craftsmen by retrieving tools or materials; holds, moves, lifts, or carries items; cleans equipment and work areas.
  • Digs and grades trenches with hand tools; fills and levels holes in roadways; sets forms, mixes and pours concrete; operates power lawn mower.
  • Loads and unloads trucks; moves, sorts, arranges, or stacks a variety of supply items.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Your application package must demonstrate your reliability and dependability to perform the duties of a Laborer at the WY-03 grade level. At a minimum, your level of experience must show that you have performed simple manual tasks that require a basic understanding of cleaning, grounds maintenance and lifting procedures; performed routine operator maintenance of hand tools and equipment; safely used industrial cleaners (typically used in households) and basic hand and yard tools and equipment, such as a rake, pitch fork, wheelbarrow, hand-pump sprayer, hand truck, shovel, push lawn mower (manual), hammer, screwdriver, wrench, and pliers; and performed routine work assignments with little or no assistance (e.g., picking up all paper and trash around the work site three times a week) - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Exerts heavy physical effort in doing such tasks, frequently lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds, running power mowers on grades or pushing heavy wheelbarrow loads of concrete, etc.WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works outside in all kinds of weather, and inside in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. Equipment, tools, and tasks involved at this level frequently require special care to avoid serious injuries. Works on and around river structures involves hazards of falling and drowning. Work requires continuous standing, walking, and stooping.EducationThis job does not have an education qualification requirement.Additional information
